THE BLACK LAMB Statement

                                                   NOT A POLICE STATE
                               JUSTICE = COMPASSION

Imagine.....  It's 3:00AM. in the morning on a Saturday night your toddler has a fever and you have to head out to the bodega to get some alcohol to run back home and rub down your little one to help break the fever.   When you reach the bodega and stand on line by the window to wait your turn so you can ask for the alcohol and it's finally your turn, you are told  oh..... wait a minute....we don't have any for some some reason and now to your disbelief, you have to get to the next closest store, which is 5 blocks away .      So now you begin to lightly sprint to the next store,  on the way you hear about who just got shot around the corner, and you have to pass through the neighborhood late night crack fiends scheming on how to do close to anything to get high so every now and then you have to back one up off you and check everybody around him so they all know your ":the wrong one" .   But they are not your real concern,  your concern is about some overzealous armed police officer chasing you or running up on you... demanding to know why your out running in the street after 3:00 in the morning pushing you up against a building, or car, demanding your ID  and telling you to stand there and don't try to move while they go to the patrol car and run a check on you  Or..... tell you to shut up because right now they don't want to hear this story about the child with fever It's about You..   can they add you to the list to be taken to jail tonight, while the whole entire time, you are worrying about your child and your lady because you now have no idea what's about to happen to you.      And all the time their talking about how they had been watching long before you saw them.     So now your saying you' all watched me leave the window of the store, sprint down the down the street, handle a brief confrontation with a crack head, and yet.... suspect me of potentially being a criminal telling a lie about how I needed to get this alcohol because my little child has a fever.      And remember, you can't say here let me call home and reach for cell phone because you just know you will be shot.     Now after an hour has passed and they have checked and seen that you are not a criminal and tell you ...you can go  ..... You finally reach that next store, buy the alcohol and not only are you worried about your child's condition, your worried about a different set of policemen stopping you with the same mentality on the way back home.         Why should this type of scenario be so common?    Why, after observing that a person was not one of the criminals hanging out on the street, would this person be detained?     Especially .. after describing their reason for being out there in the first place in full detail?       Everyone does not possess criminal tendencies and there are countless times where a conversation combined with a compassionate ear is all that is necessary no physicality, no hot headed profanity, no weapons drawn, and no one else laid out in the street swimming in blood while being innocent or by simply going about their work in a humane and conscientious manner.

Not a A Police State  Justice = Compassion
